Quality is a key factor behind the continuous improvement of Balltec products and a key component to ensuring their 100% track record remains intact.
Balltec Ltd operates a Quality Management System, approved by TUV, to the standard of BS EN ISO 9001:2008 for the design, assembly, testing and deployment or installation of recovery, mooring and connecting equipment for use primarily in the offshore oil and gas industries. In addition to our standard QMS documentation, Balltec develops project specific documents based upon customer requirements, including forging procedures, heat treatment procedures, inspection and test plans, NDT procedures and installation procedures.
Using only European sourced materials; Balltecs key suppliers are also ISO 9001:2008 approved, ensuring continuing quality throughout the full process of project execution.
All Balltec tools are designed, manufactured and tested to meet the classification requirements of applicable authorities, including ABS, DNV and Bureau Veritas. In order to gain 3rd party approval, Balltec designs are independently verified, as are key stages of product manufacture, including;
- Review and stamping of raw material
- Cutting of test specimens
- Mechanical test of raw material
- Proof and MBL TEST
Contractor and company inspectors have full access throughout all stages of production, both at Balltec and within our supply base.
Currently Balltec is going through a manufacturers review of its MoorLOK⢠subsea mooring connectors to gain design approval from ABS in accordance with the specification as set out in the ABS Rules for the Certification of Offshore Mooring Chain (2009).
